This specimen was lot 30395 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $3,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuba, Republic gold Proof "King Philip" 100 Pesos 1992 PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Struck as part of the "500th Anniversary - Discovery of America" series. From the El Don Diego Luna Collection." The year 1992 saw the release of many NCLT's by the regime featuring the 500th anniversary of Columbus's discovery of America. Greeted by disinterest from the world at large, many are now rare. Philip "the Handsome" of Hapsburg was king of Castile 1504-06 but never ruled in Aragon.
