This specimen was lot 30832 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold Proof 'Fidel Castro' 100 Pesos 1993 PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC. Issued in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks." Another rare and self-glorifying NCLT from the communist regime. This design was also issued in a five ounce format (Fr-79a).
