This specimen was lot 30679 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold "Bolivar & Marti" 200 Pesos (1 oz) 1993 MS69 NGC, Havana mint. Mintage: 100. A nearly perfect coin, struck in commemoration of the freedom fighters Simon Bolivar and Jose Marti, each credited as 'country father's' in Latin America after their integral roles in gaining independence from Spain. Selections from the Isaac Rudman Numismatic Cabinet." Desperate for foreign exchange, Cuba has issued large numbers of NCLT's, many only vaguely related to Cuba. This issue was accompanied by 100 pesos (KM 916), also in gold.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold.
