This specimen was lot 30408 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuba, Republic gold Proof "Federico Garcia Lorca" 100 Pesos 1993 PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC. Commemorating the 95th anniversary of the birth of Federico Garcia Lorca. From the El Don Diego Luna Collection." The year 1993 saw the release of many NCLT's by the regime. Greeted by disinterest from the world at large, many are now rare. Federico Garcia Lorca was a Spanish playwright and poet murdered by the Nationalists in 1936 under mysterious circumstances. His body was never found.
