This specimen was lot 20109 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $9,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "CUBA. 200 Pesos, 1994. NGC PROOF-69 ULTRA CAMEO. EXTREMELY RARE. Marked '1 oz Au 0.900' but definitely heavier. Reported mintage of only ten pieces made by the Castro regime for the centennial of the Manifesto of Montecristi written by José Martí. A piefort version of KM-545, itself only having an issue of 100 pieces. Sharply struck as would be expected being proof piedfort with hard flashy surfaces with frosted cameo devices. A opportunity to acquire a modern rarity."

Recorded mintage: unknown, all proof.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold (KM 545).

Catalog reference: KM 545, KM-P57.
