This specimen was lot 1033 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $7,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "CUBA, Havana mint, proof pattern 10 pesos, 1995, World Cup France 1998, extremely rare, NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo, finest and only example in NGC census. Virtually flawless cameo showing a design of togate Greeks with horses in front of a giant soccer ball, apparently an unapproved design (not issued), one of only two minted in silver in addition to a single uniface trial in brass." The uniface brass die trial mentioned by the auctioneers is shown in Numista (N#417467) with the comment, "Apollo Fountain at Versailles, with football on background. event name on top, issuing date on bottom....Non accepted reverse design for commemorative coin." The SCWC shows over a hundred pattern and off-metal strikes for the 1995 ten pesos but not this one.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 20 g, 0.999 fine silver.

Catalog reference: Aledón-unlisted; KM-unlisted.
