This specimen was lot 30412 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $2,160. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuba, Republic gold Proof "Jose Marti" 100 Pesos 1995 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC, Struck to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Cuban independence and Jose Marti, who played an integral role in that movement. From the El Don Diego Luna Collection." The year 1995 saw the release of many NCLT's by the regime. Greeted by disinterest from the world at large, many are now rare. This type is listed in Friedberg for 1994, not 1995.

Recorded mintage: unknown but all proofs.

Specification: 31.10 g, 0.999 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
