Mexico 1842-D RM real

from the San Dimas Collection

This specimen was struck at the Durango mint in 1842, one of a type struck there 1832-64. Assayer RM is listed for 1832-48. The SCWC also lists the overdate 1842/32 but does not note the obvious RM/RL overassayer visible here. Both the regular date and the overdate are not common.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.38 g, 0.903 fine silver, .099 troy oz ASW.
