NGC MS-65."  This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1861, perhaps the most common date of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer JG is listed for 1842-62.

The first specimen was lot 8146 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $460. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guadalajara. 1/2 Real, 1861-GaJG. NGC MS-65." This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1861, perhaps the most common date of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer JG is listed for 1842-62.
