Mexico 1860Mo medio escudo rev DSLR.jpg

A half escudo of the Mexico City mint, which struck this denomination 1825-69. Long[1] notes this date as "the second most common of all the 1/2E coins of any mint, behind the extremely common 1825 Mo JM." All known specimens seem to be the overdate, 1860/59.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: KM 378.5.
