This specimen was lot 72205 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $268.40. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1855-Mo GF/GC. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-63. Sharp strike. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." The Mexico City mint struck this denomination nearly every year 1825-63. Most dates, including this one, are common. Assayer GF is listed for 1855-57 and all of the 1855-GF seem to be stamped over 1855-GC's.
