This specimen was lot 2513 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $587.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. Escudo, 1855-Do CP. Hand on book. Lightly cleaned with minor surface encrustation deposits. Lustrous. About Uncirculated." The Durango mint struck this type 1832-38 and 1846-64; the SCWC prices this date only 60% higher than a common Mexico City issue.
