This specimen was part of lot 72128 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $536.80. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Group of 1/2 Reales (11 Pieces), 1826-55. Guadalajara Mint. Grade Range: FINE to VERY FINE. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1855, one of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer JG is listed for 1836-67. The SCWC notes an 1855/4 overdate but awards it no premium.
