This specimen was lot 42690 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1856/5-Mo GF. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-64." The Mexico City mint struck this denomination nearly every year 1825-63. Most dates, including this one, are common. No regular date is reported for 1856, all seem to be overdates. Assayer GF is listed for 1855-57.
