Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 352

This specimen was lot 352 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic, 4 reales, Guadalajara mint, 1856 JG, some surface marks from circulation, very fine and clear, very rare." Ten mints (Mexico City, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Potosi, Oaxaca, Hermosillo, Real del Catorce, Guadalupe y Calvo, Guadalajara and Culiacan) struck this type of which Guanajuato is tied with Zacatecas as the commonest mint. This date is listed but not priced in the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
