This type was struck at Durango 1832-69, with assayer JMR listed for 1849-52. This specimen was lot 8126 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $690. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Durango. 1/2 Real, 1852/1-DoJMR. Nice strike, attractive. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED."
