This specimen was lot 1820 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $300. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. ½ Escudo, 1852-Do JMR. Hand on book. Sharply struck with original luster. PCGS graded AU-58." The Durango mint struck half escudos 1833-38, 1843-55, 1859-64 and many dates are common tho this one is scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
