This specimen was struck at the Zacatecas mint in 1851. This mint struck silver and gold coins 1826-1905, with one reals known for 1826-62 and 1868-69. The issues of Zacatecas, along with Guanajuato and Mexico City, are generally common. This specimen was lot 7421 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $230. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1851-ZsOM. Toned. PCGS MS-64."
