Shown is an 1851MoGC 2 reales, one of a type struck at the Mexico City mint 1825-68 with assayer GC recorded for 1848-55. Other mints include Guanajuato, Mexico City, Alamos, Hermosillo, Zacatecas, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Durango, Potosi, Estado de Mexico, Real de Catorce and Guadalupe y Calvo. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated.
