Heritage sale 3064, lot 33486

This specimen was lot 33486 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $528. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic 8 Reales 1851/0 Do-JMR MS60 NGC, Durango mint. Unusual three letter assayer. A better date/mintmark combination. Somewhat flatly struck, yet clearly mint state." The overdate is priced slightly lower than the regular date. Assayer JMR is listed for 1849-53.
