Shown is an 1847Go-PM 4 reales, one of a type struck at the Guanajuato mint 1835-1870. Assayer PM is recorded for 1842-48. Ten mints (Mexico City, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Potosi, Oaxaca, Hermosillo, Real del Catorce, Guadalupe y Calvo, Guadalajara and Culiacan) struck this type of which Guanajuato is tied with Zacatecas as the commonest mint. This particular date is common but like all four reales, rare in high grade as shown. An overdate, 1847/6, is recorded for the year.
