This specimen was lot 72114 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $341.60. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1847-Ga JG. Guadalajara Mint. NGC MS-62. Finest of two graded by NGC. The other is VF-25. Sharp strike with attractive toning. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1847, one of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayer JG (Juan de Dios Guzman) served 1836-63.
