from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 72183

This specimen was lot 72183 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 25 Centavos, 1876-Zs S. Zacatecas Mint. NGC EF Details--Obverse Scratched. Second finest of only two graded by NGC. Old scratches under tone. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1870-90 at the Zacatecas mint.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common, including assayer A.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
