Shown is a balance scale fifty centavos, of a type struck 1869-1895. This issue from Zacatecas is common. The other assayer for 1874, “A”, is rare. The first specimen was lot 9222 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $316.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Zacatecas. 50 Centavos, 1874-ZsH. NGC AU-58.”

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, .393 troy oz ASW, 30.5 mm diameter, reeded edge.
