from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71296

This specimen was lot 71296 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $264. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1874-Ga C. Guadalajara Mint. NGC VF-25. Finest of only two examples graded by NGC. Scarce date. Soft strike. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Guadalajara mint struck this silver ten centavos 1871-74, 1877, 1881-95 and most of the dates are common or fairly common, as here. Assayer C is listed for 1871-74.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a fairly common date.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
