Mexico 1874-Mo M 10 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71369

This specimen was lot 71369 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1874-Mo M. Mexico City Mint. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Only example graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." The Mexico City mint struck silver ten centavos in substantial quantities 1869-97 and most dates are common or fairly common. Assayer B (1874-76) and assayer M (1869-74) both stamped coins in 1874.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a fairly common date.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
