This specimen was lot 5059 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $1,438. The catalog description[1] noted, "Mexico. 8 Escudos, 1863-Zs Mo. Hand on book. Underlying luster. NGC graded AU-50." Assayer MO (1855-60, 1863-65) is listed as slightly more common than assayer VL (1860-66).
