This specimen was lot 23374 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Escudo, 1862-Mo CH. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-62. Visually choice for the assigned grade with very few deeper marks for the grade. Housed in an older green PCGS holder." The Mexico City mint struck half escudos 1825-63 and 1868-69 and is the most common mint.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.875 fine gold, .049 troy oz AGW.
