This specimen was lot 6993 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2017), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 2 Reales, 1862-ZsVL. NGC AU-55. Nice amber hued tone." This date is common for the type but choice specimens are rare. The type was struck at Mexico City 1825-68 with assayer CH recorded for 1861-63 and 1867-68.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.
