This specimen was lot 22828 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $129.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1828-JM. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder. Very well struck with attractive reflective surfaces." This specimen was struck at the Mexico City mint in 1828. This mint has struck silver and gold coins since 1535, with "cap and ray" one reales recorded for 1825-33, 1850-63. The issues of Mexico City, along with Zacatecas and Guanajuato, are generally considered common.
