This specimen was lot 71525 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1827-Go JM. Guanajuato Mint. NGC G-6. An EXTREMELY RARE type, this well handled minor still remains wholly original and free from issue. Ex: [Stack's Bowers &] Ponterio 159 (3/2011) Lot # 8191." This specimen was struck at the Guanajuato mint in 1827. This mint struck silver and gold coins 1812-1900, with one reals known for 1826-62 and 1867-68. The issues of Guanajuato, along with Zacatecas and Mexico City, are generally common.
