Shown is an 1827MoJM 2 reales, one of a type struck at the Mexico City mint 1825-68. Assayer JM is recorded this mint for the years 1824-32. Other mints include Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Alamos, Hermosillo, Guadalajara, Culiacan, Chihuahua, Durango, Potosi, Estado de Mexico, Real de Catorce and Guadalupe y Calvo. Only Oaxaca did not strike this type. This type, legal tender in the pre Civil War United States for a quarter, is common except in uncirculated. This is a common date of a common mint.
