This specimen was lot 71531 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1841-Mo ML. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-62. A flashy piece with devices highlighted by magenta and amber tone in the fields. Fully lustrous, bright, and well produced, it is an ideal representative of the issue." This specimen was struck at the Mexico City mint in 1841, one of a type struck there 1825-63. Assayer ML is listed for 1834-42.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.903 fine silver, .049 troy oz ASW.
