This specimen was lot 1273 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 4 Escudos, 1841-GoPJ. NGC AU-58. Very scarce date. Sharply struck and very attractive." Guanajuato is the most available mint for this scarce denomination.
