This specimen was lot 72108 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $195.20. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1841-Ga MC. Guadalajara Mint. NGC Unc Details--Cleaned. Finest of just two coins graded by NGC. The other is VF-35. Light golden tone, nice. Cleaning is very minor. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca and Real de Catorce did not strike this type. This specimen was struck at the Guadalajara mint in 1843, one of a type struck there 1825-62. Assayers JG (Juan de Dios Guzman) and MC (Manuel Cueras) both stamped half reales in the 1840's but only Cueras is known for 1841.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.
