This specimen was lot 71376 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Empire. Franc, Year 13-H (1804/5). La Rochelle Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS AU-50. Exceedingly wholesome and attractive, this near-Mint minor offers enticing carnival glass toning across both sides. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Lepczyk in 1984 for $40). Ex George Sobin Collection (Joseph Lepczyk - 3/1984) Lot # 1179 (part of)." This type was struck AN 12-14 only and is scarce, especially compared to the An 13-A (m. 2,452,806). It was demonetized in 1869. The catalog[2] notes 39 dates for the type, most very rare.

Recorded mintage: 42,484[2], a scarce date.

Specification: 5 grams, 0.900 fine silver, 23 mm diameter, decorated edge. Designed by Pierre Joseph Tiolier, 1763-1819.
