This specimen was lot 71438 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Empire. Quart de Franc (1/4 Franc), Year 13-M (1804/5). Toulouse Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS VF-20. Fairly well handled, this toned minor is a charming survivor from the early years in Napoleon's role as emperor. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Plante in 1974 for $29). Ex: Carol Plante FPL 74 (2/1974)." This type was struck years 12-14 and the An 12-A, An 12-I, An 13-A, An 13-I and An 13-M are moderately common; the others are all scarce to very rare. The catalog[2] notes twenty dates for the type.

Recorded mintage: 39,365[2], a slightly scarce date.

Specification: 1.25 grams, 0.900 fine silver, 15 mm diameter, decorated edge. Designed by Pierre Joseph Tiolier, 1763-1819.
