This specimen was lot 71340 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Empire. 2 Francs, Year 13-Q (1804/5). Perpignan Mint. Napoleon I. PCGS VF-25. A more difficult type to encounter, this handled yet wholesome specimen presents a fairly deep tone across both sides. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Stu Witham on 8 September 1970)." This type was struck AN 12-14 only and is somewhat scarce. It was demonetized in 1869. The catalog[2] notes 35 dates for the type, most very rare.

Recorded mintage: 51,600[2], a somewhat scarce date.

Specification: 10 grams, 0.900 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, edge lettered DIEU PROTEGE LA FRANCE. Designed by Pierre Joseph Tiolier, 1763-1819.
