This specimen was lot 43322 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Consulate. 5 Francs, Year 12-G (1803/4). Geneva Mint. Napoleon as First Consul. PCGS VF-25. Though a fair degree of circulation is observed on this crown, it nevertheless remains pleasing and wholesome, and stands as a RARE type, especially when encountered without issue as is the case here. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Monetarium in 1995 for $2,566). Ex: Schweizerische Kreditanstalt [Monetarium] FPL 64 (Fall 1995) Lot # 528." This is a rare date of a type struck years XI and 12. The Geneva mint struck coinage of French design during years 8-13. All of its products are scarce and most are rare. Prices are further increased by demand from Swiss collectors.
