Shown is an 1863Ce ML four reales, one of a type struck at the Real del Catorce mint 1863 only. Assayer ML is the only recorded for that mint. Ten mints (Mexico City, Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Potosi, Oaxaca, Hermosillo, Real del Catorce, Guadalupe y Calvo, Guadalajara and Culiacan) struck this type of which Guanajuato is tied with Zacatecas as the commonest mint. Real del Catorce, with Oaxaca and Hermosillo, is a scarce mint but not rare like Guadalupe y Calvo. It struck two, four and eight reales, all dated 1853.
