Morton & Eden sale 104, lot 503

This specimen was lot 503 in Morton & Eden sale 104 (London, November 2019), where it sold for £240 (about US$372 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic, 8 reales, Oaxaca mint, 1882 AE, mint state, well toned." The output of the Oaxaca mint was generally small compared to the other mints. However, enough of the later dates were saved that they are reasonably available. This date is only slightly scarce.
