Mexico 1882-Go S 20 pesos

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71284

This specimen was lot 71284 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 20 Pesos, 1882-GoS. NGC MS-62. From a mintage of only 4,020 pieces. Second finest certified at NGC, none at PCGS. Sharply struck and brilliant." The Guanajuato mint struck twenty peso gold pieces 1870-1900 in sufficient quantity to be the second commonest mint after Mexico City.
