Ponterio sale 155, lot 6247

This specimen was lot 6247 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $115. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Culiacan. 8 Reales, 1882-AM. SCARCE. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED." The Culiacan mint struck eight reales 1846-97 and this date is listed as common for both assayers, JD and AM.

Recorded mintage: 397,000 (assayers JD and AM).

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
