This specimen was lot 1266 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $5,875. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1834-DoRM. NGC MS-63. Good strike. Fully lustrous and attractive." The Durango mint struck eight escudos 1832-70 and is one of the abundant mints tho less so than Culiacan or Guanajuato; most dates are common. The eagle is distinctive to Durango and can be found on all the silver and gold denominations.
