This specimen was lot 72242 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $89. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1826-Z AO. Zacatecas Mint. NGC VF Details--Bent. Very scarce assayer. Second finest of just two graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." This specimen was struck at the Zacatecas mint in 1826, one of a type struck there 1826-63 and 1869. Assayer AO is recorded at this mint for the years 1826-29 along with AZ (1825-26). Assayer AV struck two and eight reales in 1826 but not half reales.
