This specimen was lot 41298 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 4 Mariengroschen, 1735-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Ludwig Rudolph. PCGS MS-62. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." Five different designs were used on this denomination in 1735 (KM 809 (shown here), KM 861, KM 862, KM 863, KM 864) because three different dukes ruled in that year. This one is scarce. Four mariengroschen made one ninth of a thaler.
