This specimen was lot 41297 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1734-IAB. Zellerfeld Mint. Ludwig Rudolph. PCGS Genuine--Tooled, Unc Details. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was struck 1731-34 during the short reign of duke Ludwig Rudolf and is fairly common. Another thaler (Dav-2138, struck 1731-35) featured the leaping stallion.
