The first specimen was lot 2327 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it sold for 183 CHF (about US$227 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR/ÖSTERREICH Erzherzog Ferdinand II. 1564-1595. Taler o. J., Hall. Kratzer. Gutes sehr schön. (Austria, archduke Ferdinand II, 1564-95, thaler without date, Hall mint. Scratched, good very fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 3078 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 200 (about US$264 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"Taler o. J. (1577-99). Hall. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Austria, thaler circa 1577-99, Hall mint, very fine to extremely fine.)"

Davenport notes a considerable number of thalers and multiple thalers struck for the archduke, Dav-8088 thru Dav-8103, all without dates. None are rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, the first specimen 28.36 g, the second specimen 28.61 g.
