Sincona sale 51, lot 3702

This specimen was lot 3702 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Erzherzog Ferdinand II. 1564-1595. 3 Taler o. J. Hall. Dickabschlag von den Talerstempeln. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. Schrötlingsfehler. (Austria, archduke Ferdinand II, 1564-95, undated triple thaler, struck using thaler dies. Very rare, Very fine, Flan defect.)"

Davenport notes a considerable number of thalers and multiple thalers struck for the archduke, Dav-8088 thru Dav-8103, all without dates. None are rare.
