This specimen is a common date of a series struck 1871-92 at the Culiacan mint, which closed in 1905. The SCWC records an 1890, 9/8 overdate in addition to the regular date. This twenty-five centavos piece replaced the two reales struck since colonial times. It, in turn, was replaced by a smaller 20 centavos piece in 1898.

Specification: 6.77 g, 0.903 fine silver, .196 troy oz ASW.
